General Overview

May was plagued by the political turmoil in the US Senate as to whether they would raise the debt limit again or if the US Government would be unable to pay its debt. Ultimately, cooler heads prevailed and amid much brouhaha the potentially devastating scenario was avoided. Still, the market and especially tech - rather unimpressed by the controversy - continued to rebound after a rather (in comparison) turbulent last year for the whole sector.

For me personally, May is always one of the most rewarding months as the once a year dividends from (mostly) German companies kept coming in and this month proved no exception. In fact, it was the highest amount of dividends I have ever received in a month. In total, I received an utterly astonishing, but very satisfying 637,04€. I know this is not to be repeated this year, but it is still a very pleasing month and a good reminder that I'm well on my way. The overview is as follows:

  1. AT&T: 9,00
  2. Verizon: 9,54
  3. BASF: 51,00
  4. Apple: 5,61
  5. AGNC: 4,90
  6. ASML: 3,04
  7. AbbVie: 11,49
  8. SL Green Realty: 2,31
  9. Stag Industrial: 0,48
  10. Allianz: 125,40
  11. Munich Re: 162,40
  12. EPR Properties: 2,99
  13. Air Products & Chemicals: 0,19
  14. Iberdrola: 0,25
  15. JPMorgan Chase: 3,08
  16. Texas Instruments; 8,67
  17. National Retail Properties: 4,27
  18. Kinder Morgan: 6,59
  19. Main Street: 17,01
  20. Omega Healthcare: 36,42
  21. Realty Income: 27,53
  22. SPDR Global Dividend Aristocrats ETF: 28,55
  23. Hercules Capital: 25,39
  24. British American Tobacco: 26,16
  25. Easterly Government Properties: 3,12
  26. Starbucks: 12,42
  27. LTC: 2,23
  28. Arbor Realty Trust: 9,66
  29. Sabra Health Care Reit: 8,30
  30. FS KKR Capital: 0,28
  31. Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Fund: 9,57
  32. Calamos Strategic Total Return Fund: 3,33
  33. Cohen&Steers Quality Realty Income Fund: 2,24
  34. Blackrock Science and Technology Trust II: 3,87
  35. Cohen & Steers REIT & Preferred Income Fund: 2,17
  36. Blackrock Utilities, Infrastructure & Power Opportunities Trust: 3,19

On average, I received 17,69€ from 36 stocks or funds. This is a daily dividend of 20.54€. This dividend is also meaningful as it would cover my rent and part (albeit a very small) of my insurance already, which are quite a substantial part of your everyday expenses. June will of course not be as rewarding as May, but I should be surely above 300€ as well, which is my aim for every month of the year.
