For the idea behind the album of the week, go here. (It is becoming more like the album of the month, but I'm defiantly carrying on as best as I can. ;-))
This wonderful album is Americana at its best, melting jazz, blues, country and swing in both uptemp songs (e.g. "Locomotive" or "Let's Go Ahead and Fall in Love") or slower, more soulful songs and ballads, which fit wonderfully in the tradition of the Great American Songbook (e.g. the closer "Valentine" or "The Last Time").
If this kind of music is your cup of tea, then you're in for a treat as these songs are expertly executed and there is no real filler material.
Stand out tracks: the upbeat and very animated "I wish I knew how it would be to be free"; the touching "Jigsaw Heart" and the country tribute that is "Get The Hell Out Of Dodge"
