Dividend Update: January 24

 

 

 

2024 and I don't have gotten off on the right foot it seems. Twice I have been a litlte sick so far and, as any good investor shouldn't be, twice I have (driven by impatience) gone back to work, exercise and the fever of the world too soon only to be knocked down for good for now, coughing my loungs out. Humbled by this winter, I now keep my head down and await the things to come.

The markets in January, however, were in a rather joyous mood as earnings started to trickle in and some stocks climbed to all-time hights. I, on the other hand, have to admit defeat for the first (and unfortunately not the last time this year) on my 400€ a month in dividends aim set for this year. In total, I received 369,99€ in dividends from 34 stocks or funds. The dividend cuts by MPW and WPC do of course contribute to that, but they are equally off-set by the tax-free dividends which I get at the beginning of the year (though that won't last long). YoY, this is a satisfying increase of 21%, but unfortunately short of the goal I had for this year.

February, as it was last year, is once again going to be the lowlight of the year, marking a 2nd straight month that will fall well short of the 400€ a month I hope to collect. In fact, it might most likely be well short of 300€ as it was last year. Better things will follow after that.
