May was crazy busy for me so that I barely checked my portfolio. There are the A-level exams which I have to grade (almost done!); the oral exams I have to prepare (still haunting me!); the 1-week school trip with my 6th graders which was both lovely but extremely exhausting; the mini-vacation in Turkey; my sister's wedding (congrats, sis!) at which I had to play guitar during the ceremony; watchint the NBA playoffs (Go Mavs!); and the usual madness of the day-to-day work. Looking back on the month, I can't say that I have missed all that much. On the whole, my portfolio trucked along nicely and ended up +1,85%. This time of the year, we are somwhat between Q1 and Q2, so there were also not too many earning reports and it was the right time to just let the stock market do what it does. More importantly, in May I collected 484,30€ in dividends from 37 stocks and/or funds. After failing to crack the 400€ barrier I had set myself for this year in January and February, I now managed to complete the hattrick of crossing that barrier in March, April & May. June should prove also to be a very satisfying month before the European season of dividends is almost over and things most likely get a little more difficult to achieve the goal I had set myself. For now, I just try to bring this school year to a nice end and then enjoy my summer and travel a bit to escape the occasional haze of the daily life.
